A bit about the glazes
A glaze is the final surface of a ceramic piece, the part that meets your hands, food, or drink. For functional homeware, I think it needs to do more than just look good; it should be durable, safe, and easy to clean.
I develop glazes that are stable, well-fitted to the clays that I use, and thoughtfully formulated. This means:
– A balanced flux ratio
– Balanced and sufficient alumina and silica
– Sensible use of colourants
– No lead, cadmium, barium, or lithium
The glazes are built to last for years of daily use. They hold up in the dishwasher, but will last even longer with gentle hand washing.
