FAQ
What sizes are the mugs/tumblers?
For a comparison, check out the sizes page here. In New Zealand, takeaway cups tend to be larger than the equivalent sit-in mugs - I think my sizes are on the smaller size, so if in doubt, go bigger.
Are your pieces dishwasher safe?
Yes. While hand-washing is always gentler, my pieces are designed to handle daily use, including the dishwasher. I use durable, vitrified clay and stable glazes that are fired to create a strong, glass-like finish. My own mugs have been through the dishwasher countless times over the years and still look brand new.
Are your pieces microwave safe?
Yes, they’re perfectly safe for reheating coffee or tea. That said, I don’t recommend using them to cook or boil water in, as that kind of prolonged high heat isn't ideal for handmade ceramics.
Are your glazes food safe?
Yes - I formulate glazes without lead, cadmium, barium or lithium (even though the AS/NZS 4371:1996 standard allows some lead leaching, I choose not to use lead at all). Additionally, the glaze chemistry is balanced to ensure stability, and colourant oxides (e.g. copper, iron) are used only at low levels. All glazes are properly melted when fired, and do not craze (small cracks in the glaze).
How long will it take to receive my order?
NZ Post's target is 2-3 working days (depending on location), and it may take me a day to package and send your order. If you need something urgently, just let me know.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at the moment, I'm still setting up and starting small. If you're outside New Zealand but keen to order, feel free to get in touch and I’ll do my best to make it work.
Can I request a custom piece?
I'm not currently taking custom orders so I can focus on expanding my standard range. That said, I love hearing ideas—if it's something others might enjoy too, I may be able to include it in a future batch.
Can I get a set?
Yes! I have more stock than listed on the website - I'm happy to put together a matching set if I can, just send a message.
